Mailbox: Stays active as long as you log in at least once every 3 months. If you don't log in for 3 months, the mailbox is deleted.
Pro accounts: Not affected by the 3-month inactivity rule while subscribed. If you cancel Pro and don't resubscribe within 90 days, all mailboxes under the account are permanently deleted.
Why up to 7 days?
Most temp mail services delete your address in 10 minutes. That's often not enough — verification emails can arrive 30 minutes later, password resets sometimes come overnight, and confirmation links sometimes need to be clicked the next day. Mail.td gives you up to 7 full days so late-arriving emails don't disappear before you can read them.

Why doesn't Mail.td keep emails forever?
Temp mail is designed to be temporary — long retention defeats the privacy purpose. Keeping all emails for 7 days is enough for most signup flows; beyond that, the data is removed.
What happens if I cancel Pro?
Pro features (custom domains, webhooks) are disabled at period end. Existing emails are kept for 7 days afterwards. If you don't resubscribe within 90 days, all mailbox accounts under the account are deleted.
Are deleted emails recoverable?
No. Once retention expires, or you manually delete, messages are removed from storage and not recoverable from backups.
Does the address itself expire when emails do?
No. The address stays active as long as the mailbox does — log in at least once every 3 months. New emails keep arriving; old ones get cleaned up after their retention window.
Can I extend retention for a specific email?
There's no per-email extension — retention is set by your plan. To keep a particular email longer, forward it from the inbox to a permanent address before retention expires.
